Turkey finally rejoins Formula 1 Races after a long 9 year-old-absence since 2011. Formula One fleshed out its 2020 calendar to 17 races on Aug. 25. The calendar includes Turkey back on for the first time since 2011.

"We can confirm that Turkey, Bahrain (hosting two races), and Abu Dhabi will be part of the revised season. And [we] want to express our thanks to the hard work of all our promoters and partners in making this 17-race season possible," they said.
When will the Turkish Grand Prix be Held?The sport said in a statement that Turkey's Istanbul Park circuit would host a race on November 13-15 before a Bahrain double in late November and early December. Furthermore, Abu Dhabi is ending the season on Dec. 13 at Yas Marina.

How to Increase the Attendance of Locals to Istanbul's Circuit?It is huge and exciting news that Turkey rejoins Formula 1 races. Likewise, Istanbul's circuit was popular with drivers if not the locals whose attendance was scarce. Therefore, organizers of Istanbul's circuit and the Istanbul Municipality are focusing on the ways to increase local's attendance. In doing so, the Municipality is planning to boost public transportation. Because the distance between the circuit and the central parts of the city is quite far away. That was the main reason for the local's low attendance to the races back in 2011.

Meanwhile, the only current drivers to have won there are Kimi Raikkonen. Further, six times world champion Lewis Hamilton. And finally, four-times champion Sebastian Vettel.

Six Grand Prix has been held so far since the delayed season started in Austria in July. And organizers held them all behind closed doors.
It is Now Clear the Number of Races in 2020Formula One had confirmed only 13 races until Aug. 25, all of them in Europe. Because after other races in the Americas were canceled. However, teams and drivers now have a clear idea of how many the championship will have.

The original schedule, published before the pandemic, envisaged a record 22 races. Nevertheless, fixtures such as Monaco had to be canceled. Thus, the committee drew up a new calendar with a mix of old favorites and new venues.
The Chinese Grand Prix Does Not Take Place This Year"Sadly, we will not be racing in China this season," Formula One said. Adding that they look forward to returning next year.
Bahrain's two races on Nov. 29 and Dec. 6 will be designated the Bahrain Grand Prix and the Sakhir Grand Prix, after the name of the desert circuit.
Formula 1 will not be racing in the Chinese Grand Prix this year.
Sakhir will be the third circuit to host two races this season after Austria's Red Bull Ring and Britain's Silverstone.
